The Department for Planning and Infrastructure has been advised of the allegations that Wilson Parking obtained vehicle owners names and addresses resulting in the issuing of parking infringement notices and letters of intent to wheel clamp vehicles should the penalty not be paid.

The Department is currently investigating the matter and initial findings show that in a number of cases customers details were incorrectly passed on to Wilson Parking by a staff member.

The Department’s policy allows for the release of customer names and addresses to local government authorities for the purpose of administering traffic related by-laws, such as parking infringements.  The policy does not extend to private organisations.

The Department regrets the breach and will work to ensure that it does not occur again.
