The Department of Planning and Infrastructure advised on Friday (15 May 2009) that Mr Wayne Winchester would take over direction of the Esperance cleanup and recovery project from tomorrow, Tuesday 19 May.
Director general Eric Lumsden said former director Dr John Ottaway had made a substantial contribution in setting the direction of the cleanup project.
“Dr Ottaway has established good relations with the Esperance community and his departure will neither delay the timetable of this important project nor diminish the State Government’s commitment to cleaning up lead contamination in Esperance,” Mr Lumsden said.
Mr Winchester is the Department for Planning and Infrastructure’s Great Southern regional manager and former manager of State Land Services.
