Perth Central City - Access and Mobility e-map (pdf 372kb)

This access and mobility map has been produced by the Department for Planning and Infrastructure with assistance from the City of Perth and a reference group of people with disabilities. You can view an interactive copy of the map (pdf 372kb) here. We have also included an information page for our vision impaired visitors.

Changes to note:

The information listed below gives details on particular areas in Perth that are changing regularly and gives details on the best way to navigate around the area.

Wellington Street, William Street and   Murray Street Mall.
Due to construction work in the new William Street Train Station care must be taken crossing the road at the Wellington Street / William Street intersection. The east side of this intersection cannot be used. The east side of William Street has no footpath and cannot be used. The north side of the William Street / Murray Street Mall intersection should not be used.

William Street, The Esplanade and Mounts Bay Road.
Due to construction work on the new Esplanade Train Station, care must be taken crossing the road at the William Street / The Esplanade intersection. The south side of this intersection cannot be used.

Access to the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre.
The nearest accessible lift for entry to the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre is at the bottom of Mill Street on the river side of Mounts Bay Road. The traffic lights at the crossing provide audible signals. Take care when walking towards the lift to avoid a number of bollards in the area directly in front of the lift.

An additional entrance can be taken from William Street.  The ramp entrance is on the right, almost at the bottom of William Street, approximately 105 metres from St Georges Terrace. The ramp slopes up and right around the Quadrant building.  Follow the path to the Busport and then travel through the Busport to the south end.  Go through the automatic door at end and turn hard left.  Travel up the ramp and turn hard right.  The Convention Centre is directly in front.

Access to the Esplanade Busport.
There are no at grade crossing points to cross Mounts Bay Road into the Esplanade Busport. There are two suitable access bridges to the Esplanade Busport, one using a ramp and the other using a lift or escalators.

When travelling towards the Busport along William Street, the ramp entrance is on the right, almost at the bottom of William Street, approximately 105 metres from St Georges Terrace. The ramp slopes up and right around the Quadrant building.

The lift entrance is at grade along Mounts Bay Road.  Travelling west towards Kings Park, it is on the right and approximately 230 metres from William Street. The lift is operational from 6:45am to 7:00pm, Monday to Friday. The escalators are on the right, 140 metres from William Street. The escalators are operational from 6:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
