Obtaining cycling brochures and maps
DPI’s Cycling Unit manages the production of ‘free to user’ information brochures, facts sheets, ride booklets and several maps. It also produces the ‘user pays’ Perth Bike Maps, of which there are five.
Individual consumers
Individual consumers may acquire our publications from those bicycle retailers, local government libraries, DPI Licensing Centres, newsagents, tertiary bookshops and other organisations that stock them. The Perth Bike Maps are charged to these outlets so they are a ‘user pays’ item. The Cycling Unit does not control either the range of publications carried, or price charged, by the outlets.
If you are unable to obtain a ‘free to user’ Cycling Publication you may request it direct from the Cycling Unit by email or by telephone on (08) 9216 8313. However, Perth Bike Maps must be purchased from a retail outlet because the Cycling Unit is not authorised to trade in this manner.
DPI approved retail outlets and public access points
Bulk ordering of all publications is made through either the Department for Planning and Infrastructure’s Cycling Unit or through its contract warehouse and distribution system. The Cycling Unit has limited storage capacity so bulk orders of more than 100 brochures/maps will be forwarded to the warehouse.
Bulk orders may be placed through this website by filling in a Cycling Brochure Order Form (68kb pdf). Alternatively, the same form may be printed, filled in and faxed. Blank order forms may be requested by email or phone (08) 9216 8313.
Delays of two working weeks can be expected when the chargeable Perth Bike Maps are included in an order because an invoice must accompany them. These are raised by DPI’s Accounting Services and forwarded to the Cycling Unit as a prerequisite to order, assembly and dispatch.
Other outlets
A number of commercial enterprises, including relocation businesses, hostels, motels and caravan parks are requesting the 'free to user' cycling publications for their customers. In some cases the Cycling Unit must impose a replacement cost charge. Please contact us by email or phone to discuss such requests.
