Welcome to Freight

Moving freight efficiently is essential to WA's economy. However, noise, pollution, safety, the dividing of communities by roads and rail lines, damage to wetlands and devaluing of property are major concerns for the community, and often a point of conflict between the public and the freight industry.

Every year, over 60 million tonnes of freight moves in and through the Perth metropolitan area alone. To move this freight efficiently with minimum adverse impact on local communities, it is essential that our transport networks are well-designed and provide good access to major freight terminals and depots.

We strive to achieve harmony between the needs of business and the needs of the wider community recognising that each will benefit from the success of the other.

We're making the freight transport industry fairer
