Maritime geographic data
The Department for Planning and Infrastructure holds registers of plans and surveys dealing with Western Australian maritime issues dating back to the late 1800's. Although most of this information is available from
the Department, some early books are held by the Battye Library.

| DPI Maritime Plans |
This is the Department's current Plan Register. It contains all plans dealing with maritime issues created by the Public Works Department until its closure in 1985, the Marine and Harbours Department till its amalgamation with the Department of Transport in 1993 and its subsequent restructure to form the Department for Planning and Infrastructure. |

Bathymetry - Water depths collected by hydrographic surveying. Available as digital ascii files and/or hardcopy plans. |

Bathymetric Contours - Interpreted contours from hydrographic surveying. Available as digital files in dgn, dxf or shp formats and/or hardcopy plans. |

Coastline Movements - Water and vegetation lines usually interpreted from aerial photography. Available as digital files in dgn, dxf or shp formats and/or hardcopy plans. |

Maritime Geotechnical Data - Boreholes, probes, drill holes and pile driving records. Available in hardcopy plans only. |

Maritime Infrastructure - Coastal protection (groynes, seawalls, breakwaters), jetties, boat launching ramps and navigation aids. |

Maritime Reef and Rock Navigation Hazards - As covered by the Department's Nautical Chart Series. |

Marine Use Boundaries - Mooring control areas, Swan River mooring areas and navigable water regulation areas. |
