Coastal facilities planning and development

The Department for Planning and Infrastructure is responsible for planning and development of coastal infrastructure, including:

• Investigation of the need for new maritime facilities and enhancements to existing facilities (e.g. Perth recreational boating facilities study);

• Planning and design;

• Provision of a regulatory and advisory role (e.g. Fremantle Harbours Policy);

• The Recreational Boating Facilities Scheme;

• Developing concept plans, feasibility studies and business cases;

• Project managing the delivery of facilities (e.g. Hillarys Boat Harbour Enhancement Scheme and new Fremantle mooring pens); and

• Providing technical input and direction for project delivery.
