Licensing centres

Metropolitan and regional DPI licensing centres are open between the hours of 8:15 am and 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

Learner permit applications

Applications for learners permits are conducted between the hours of 8:15 am and 3:45 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).


Vehicle examinations

Vehicle examinations are conducted at 6 metropolitan vehicle examination centres between the hours of 7:30am and 4:30pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

Please see the vehicle examinations section for further information on which vehicles are required to be examined, what components of your vehicle will be examined and the steps you should take to help make sure your vehicle is examined as quickly as possible.


Licensing agents

In addition to licensing centres there are also Licensing agents such as shire offices and post offices in Regional areas, where you can access full licensing services.

Many Australia Post offices also offer a limit number of licensing services such as the payment of bills and having your photo taken for your driver's licence.


Licensing photopoint locations

Licensing Photopoints are located at any Department for Planning and Infrastructure licensing centre or licensing agent in regional WA. There are also 35 Australia Post photopoints. In total, there are over 170 Phototpoint locations around the state, so there will be one handy to you.
