Types of taxi plates

There are two types of taxi plates available for taxi drivers that wish to owner-operate taxis in country areas of Western Australia.

• conventional taxis; and
  
  
• multi-purpose taxis.

Acquiring taxi plates in country Western Australia is a different process to that of metropolitan taxis, as country taxi plates are not leased

How to apply

To apply for country taxi plates you need to:

1. submit the appropriate application form for either a conventional or multi-purpose taxi plate;
   submit the form to your local Licensing Centre (tel: 13 11 56);
   
   
2. pay the Licensing Application fee of $162.50; and 
   
   
3. pay a one off plate fee of $33.60.

Country taxi plate holders are required to pay an annual licence fee of $92.20.
