Seth’s story

Seth and his family are finding smarter ways to get around. He lives in Daglish with wife Denise and children Jessica and Kyle. The TravelSmart program has helped Seth think about his travel options.

“The information on the train was most useful,” he said. “I now use the train and bike to go to work for four days a week.”

“We went out and bought bikes for the whole family,” Seth said. They enjoy riding to Fremantle together once a month and ride locally on weekends.

Seth says using alternatives to driving when he can has lots of benefits.

“Using alternatives such as the train has saved me money, in terms of car running costs and parking in Fremantle, and it makes sense with the rising fuel costs. It's less stressful than driving to work.

“I'm also fitter and can gain 30 minutes of exercise by simply walking to and from the train station. We now cycle together as a family and this has brought us closer together,” he said.

Seth says anyone can find ways to be TravelSmart. “Please consider the alternatives, you will feel the benefits and improve your fitness,” he said.
